Registered office: 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom
This Privacy Policy explains how LUVIO TECH LTD ("Luvio", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use the Luvio website at www.luvio.club, our mobile applications and related services (the "Service"). We are the controller of your personal data and we process it in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
Controller: LUVIO TECH LTD, registered in England & Wales (company no. 17115334), registered office 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@luvio.club.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy covers personal data we process about members and visitors. It does not cover third-party websites or services that we may link to, which have their own privacy policies.
3. The personal data we collect
Account data: your name or username, email address, date of birth (to confirm you are 18+), password and account settings.
Profile data: photos, bio, gender, preferences, interests and other details you choose to add to your profile.
Content and activity: messages, likes, matches, gifts sent or received, and how you interact with the Service.
Payment data: records of your purchases and subscriptions. Your full card details are handled by our payment providers, not stored by us (see section 7).
Verification data: where you choose to verify your identity or photos, the information and images you submit for that purpose.
Technical data: device information, IP address, app and browser type, approximate location, and cookie data (see our Cookie Policy).
Communications: messages you send to our support team and your contact preferences.
4. How and why we use your data, and our legal bases
We use your personal data on the following legal bases:
To perform our contract with you - to create and run your account, provide matching and messaging, process purchases and subscriptions, and deliver customer support.
For our legitimate interests - to keep the Service safe and secure, prevent fraud and abuse, moderate content, understand and improve the Service, and protect our rights, in a way that is balanced against your interests.
With your consent - for optional analytics and marketing cookies, certain marketing messages, and processing of information you make public in your profile (see section 5). You can withdraw consent at any time.
To comply with a legal obligation - for example, tax, accounting, anti-fraud and responding to lawful requests.
5. Special category data (dating context)
Because Luvio is a dating service, information you choose to share - such as details that may reveal your sexual orientation - may be 'special category' data under data-protection law. We process such information only where you have manifestly made it public by adding it to your profile, or on the basis of your explicit consent. You can edit or remove this information at any time through your profile settings.
6. When we share your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed:
Other members see the profile information and content you choose to make visible to them.
Service providers who help us run the Service (for example hosting, IT, content moderation, customer support and communications), under contracts that require them to protect your data.
Payment service providers who process your payments securely.
Identity and age verification providers, where you use verification features.
Analytics and advertising partners, only where you have consented through our cookie banner.
Authorities, regulators or advisers where we are legally required to disclose, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to protect members' safety.
A buyer or successor in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
7. Payment data and security
We do not collect, process or store your full card number or other raw cardholder data on our systems. All card payments are processed by third-party payment service providers that are certified PCI-DSS compliant, and your card details are entered and handled within their secure environment. Card transactions are additionally protected by 3D Secure authentication (Visa Secure / Mastercard Identity Check) where supported by your card issuer.
8. International data transfers
We are based in the UK and may use service providers located outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area (EEA). Where we transfer personal data outside the UK or the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any additional measures required to protect your data.
9. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period (normally within 30 days), except where we need to keep certain information for longer - for example, transaction and payment records, which we retain for at least six years to meet UK tax and accounting requirements, and limited data needed to prevent fraud, handle disputes or comply with the law.
10. Automated processing and matching
We use automated processes to suggest potential matches based on your profile, stated preferences and activity. These suggestions do not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. If you would like more information about how matching works, contact us.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the Service and, with your consent, for analytics and marketing. Our Cookie Policy explains the cookies we use, their purposes and durations, and how to change or withdraw your consent at any time.
12. Your rights
Subject to conditions and exceptions in the law, you have the right to: access your personal data; have it corrected; have it erased; restrict or object to our processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out). To exercise any right, contact us at the address above. We will respond within the time limits set by law. We will not charge a fee or discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
13. Children
The Service is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that an under-18 has created an account, we will close it and delete the data. If you believe a minor is using the Service, please contact us.
14. How we protect your data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and ongoing monitoring. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authority of a personal-data breach where the law requires.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The 'Last updated' date shows when it last changed. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
16. Complaints and how to contact us
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first at support@luvio.club. You also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EEA, you may complain to the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
